Hi,

My config:
Fabrik 3.5
Joomla! 3.6
Template - Protostar
Updated from github
Access to site admin in my Fabrik account

I'm facing various issues on my live site after I've updated.

  • Java Script not working to hide/show elements
  • List email plugins links not opening the lightbox for sending emails
  • probably others
You can follow the following link:
http://www.fisiolar.pt/index.php/pt/sessoes-de-tratamento-secretariado/form/12/

I've updated fabrik from git hub using fabrik-master. It's the first time I update it using this new description. Have something changed? Must I configure anything on my site for it to work correctly? Is it to do with the php version?

Please I need urgent help. Thanks in advance.

Ok I'm scared here... all the defined plugins in forms and list are gone!!!!
Also the js and validations from the elements!!!

What is going on here.... please I need urgent help

I'm looking at the settings for form 12 (Sessio di Tratamento), and I see about a dozen plugins.

Try clearing your browser cache, make sure you don't have cached JS.

Cleaned cache and it seams that everything's ok. Thanks for your quick support... Ufffffo_O

where to see if I have cached JS?

You can't really "see" it. Just be aware that browsers cache JavaScript, just like they cache images, etc. When you update J! / Fabrik, it's not uncommon for that to cause errors, because you are running "old" JS.

There is a "Burst JS" option in the Fabrik global options (under Debugging). Setting that will force browsers to reload, by appending a random string to the JS URL's. It's really only intended for use when debugging, switching between compressed and uncompressed JS. But it's also useful to set that when you update, and leave it set for a day or so, so it forces a reload for any of your active users.

Hugh,

First of all let me tel you that I've made the updates in the following order:
  1. Joomla
  2. Fabrik update through Github
  3. Fabrik update through Joomla
I've missed the Fabrik update through Joomla and did first an Fabrik update through Github. Can this justify my issues?

The issues I'm facing are:

And so on through the majority of lists and form

Please I need urgent help on this issues. Many Thanks

Hugh,

I'm going around the autofill issues using calc elements.

But please I need urgent help for the list email plugins.

Thanks in advance!

Issue confirmed:
in an ajaxfied list (latest Git, J!3.6) on the first load it's looking like
upload_2016-7-22_18-26-50.png
as you can see the ids are correct.
After navigating to the next page it's
upload_2016-7-22_18-28-26.png
identical ids (the one from the very first record on the first page), identical classes (oddRow1 is added via JS at the end).

It's the same on your site. So after navigating all your "row classes" are gone, so custom CSS is not applied.

My backups are done by ziping all joomla installation folders and to restore I just unzipit. Just like I do with the fabrik from github. Is this the same than using akeba?

will things get to previous state by unziping my backup?

Hmmm, no Akeeba installed.

The only way I can debug that list email issue (I can't replicate here) would be to get an Akeeba archive of your site I can install here. Can you install Akeeba Backup ...

https://www.akeebabackup.com/download.html

... and do a full archive. I can then download it and use Akeeba 'kickstart' to install a clone of your site locally, which I can debug.

Akeeba Backup is an absolutely invaluable tool for keeping your site backed up, and making clones you can test upgrades on (a "sandbox") before doing them to your live site. You should never, ever do an upgrade on a "mission critical" live site without first testing it on a sandbox.

Hugh,

I've made and akeba full site backup it's in /var/www/vhosts/fisiolar.pt/httpdocs/administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup
This is a backup with joomla 3.6 and also last fabril version where I'm getting all the issues.

I've already restored my backup and things are ok again. Do you also want a full backup of this working version?

Nope, just the one with issues.

The AJAX nav ID/class thing should be fixed as of this commit:

https://github.com/Fabrik/fabrik/commit/43ca73d9b534c0c89a263df6342c478a71584f26

... (and the one before it).

My next suggestion is that you deploy that Akeeba backup you took as a clone. See ...

https://www.akeebabackup.com/products/akeeba-kickstart.html
https://www.akeebabackup.com/videos/1212-akeeba-backup-core/1618-abtc04-restore-site-new-server.html

You can install a clone of your site either locally, or on your main server. I would recommend first trying it on your local test server, so you don't accidentally mess up your live site. In the video, they install at the top level (web root) of the web site, but you can create a subfolder and install it there.

You'll then have a sandbox copy of your upgraded site, which you can test any fixes I come up with, before trying the upgrade again.

Akeeba Backup / kickstart is an invaluable tool for anyone running J! sites, and well worth spending an hour or so getting to know it.

Thank you.
