Using button plugin without have a column in a table

Hi, it's possible to have a button in a form using the button plugin without a column related to a table?
Why the button plugin needs a column on the table? what is the utility of this?

It's Fabrik standard to have a column for each element. You can set the element to "Save to database"=no (Access settings).

To create a button in list view you can also use a list plugin, in form view a custom button in the form template.
