This might be a defect!

Hello,

I am validating a field with 'regex' plugin.

My Requirement: I wanted this field is not mandatory (Optional...), user can fill or leave it blank. If user enters a value in this field, this field should be validated.

I have applied 'regex' only, I didn't apply 'isempty' plugin...or etc.

As I am applying just validation of the field, though this field became mandatory with Red *.

So, I think this is a defect.

The Red * should display beside the field, only when we apply 'isempty' validation.

Not quite a defect but a missing feature. If you check the element in front end you will see a tooltip over the red star: "This field is optional but..."
