Fabrik V4.1 Now Available for Download

As previously mentioned, we have transitioned to a subscription/donation model for access to our package downloads and to use the Joomla Updater.

To download this version, you will need a subscription. If you do not already have one, you will be prompted to make your purchase in order to download it. A subscription costs $20 USD and is valid for 1 year. IMPORTANT: Make sure to use the email associated with your Fabrik account when you make your purchase.

A new menu item has been added to the site, visible once you log in. It is called "Subscriptions" and has two sub-menus:
  • My Subscriptions: Shows all of the subscriptions you have purchased.
  • Download IDs: Displays your Download ID and a list of all your downloads.
The Download ID needs to be entered into the Fabrik options. Go to the Fabrik Home in your site administration, click on "Options" at the top right, enter the Download ID in the Fabrik Product Key field, and save.
Edit: Download ID will be used in V4.2 in "Update Sites"

Always take a backup of your site before installing any new Fabrik package. We recommend restoring this backup to a test system and performing a trial run of the new Fabrik package installation on this test system before updating your production system.

Note regarding updating from BitBucket (GitHub): The current Fabrik BitBucket is now at V4.1. You must install the V4.1 package before attempting to update from Git. Updating from Git to a previous release may break your system.

A show/modify user info menu is missing in order to recall/view what you've filled in while purchasing. I think I made a mistake (using coupon).

You may consider taking in account companies (company name in the order form) as most of us and/or our customers are companies. And they will expect an invoice (through Paypal ?).

You'll get an invoice automatically (if it's a paid subscription;)). Something like

I added a "My Profile" submenu to Login/Logout.
Profile is showing the J! account settings + the Billing Details

And an "Invoices" submenu to "Subscriptions

As for Fabrik there are currently two different accounts necessary (one to download and the other for the forums) I assume I need to change my E-mail address for the first one to match my Paypal-Acccount...
 
Yes. The bridge that was in use prior to the newer Xenforo no longer worked. We are awaiting the next release of Xenforo which offers an Oauth interface so we can build a new bridge and then sync the users.

Hello, i got email from fabrik said i have a coupon code but i cant find any where in my account to download the new version.
 
@chhit You should have got a 2nd email shortly after with the code, in the 1st one there was always one code missing.

F4.2 is not out yet.
The code is for getting a 1 year subscription.
With this subscription you can then download any new Fabrik version during this year.
 
Hello, I wanted to ask for information regarding the subscription.
Does Fabrik's email have to match the PayPal email? Because this is my personal account and the payment should be done with the insurance one.

Finally another question, is the subscription valid for only one website? (In my case I use the production site and another development site on other hosting).

Your PayPal email does not have to match your account email. When you click through to make your payment, PayPal should offer your default PayPal account, but you can also switch to another for the checkout.

The subscription is valid for all of your websites, there is no restriction.
 
Having said that, if your several sites are making you money through the use of Fabrik it is always nice to receive a little more.
 
invent a "pro"/"commercial" version my corporate clients can buy. Leave Fabrik free for the masses.

where there is maybe "custom branding" as feature...something small, a user with 2 fingers can change but corps are too stubid for.
I mean, just something I can show my clients (with corp money) to buy, with invoice and tax and stuff

See that is the problem. We are small and do not want to get involved in the whole tax thing. Way too many jurisdictions to have to deal with. If we went full on the cost of Fabrik for everyone would be well over $300 USD, at least at the the current rate of subscriptions.

With over 2,000 downloads of Fabrik 4.0, we have received 130 subscriptions for 4.1. At $20 a piece that represents about $2,600 which doesn't go far.
