content plugin - form not showing

hi, using joomla 3.3.1, fabrik 3.1, updated from github last night.

content plugin activated. in the frontend, i still only see this:
{fabrik view=form id=1}

Make sure you have no HTML formatting inside {}, no additional spaces (e.g. before })...

nope, double checked. nothing. most bizarre. it's as if the plugin is not activated at all.

i tried using {loadposition} now and get the exact same problem. a bug in Joomla3.3.1 perhaps?
