Text area not retaining formating

I can't seem to get the text area to retain any formatting whatsoever. Not even line breaks so all the text just ends up on one line. The only html tag that I can see is <p>. Its fine when I am editing the record its when I click save and come back and check I find all formatting has been stripped.

You have the WYSIWYG editor set to yes, so it is your Joomla editor settings, not the Fabrik element that is doing this. Check the Text Filter Settings in Global Configuration.

As Nick says, we use the J! content filtering settings, so it's a J! config thing.
