How can we Duplicate an element plugin?

I've never done it but I assume:
copy/rename the plugins/fabrik_element/xxx folder to yyy
rename all files *xxx*.* to *yyy*.*
replace all relevant strings *xxx* with *yyy* in all files
 
I tried it many times, i wanted to duplicate the "rating" plugin... but it doesn't work... The goal was to custom my stars, and display in each rows of my list the average without that a guithub update distroys my custom rating plugin...

The duplicate "RatingBis" doesn't work... the table is created, i can add the plugin in my element list, but only the "empty" stars are displayed, and the numers of star is always on "0"

I opened all the files, and changed "RatingBis" instaed "rating" and "RatingBiss" instead "ratings"...

mm...
 
As far as I can remember rating is using JS. Maybe it's still calling the original JS function and so updating the original table.
