'Group by' Heading links direct to wrong place

Hi,
when using the group-by function in a list, the link on the group name directs me to the details view of first record of the group. The little arrow to the left works as intended, it opens the group.
I dont know if it is a bug or a feature or if i can influence this behaviour?

The group-by header displays the element(s) of the first record (default is the the "group by" element, you can add other elements via placeholder in the group-by frontend template).
So if the element is set to "Link to details"=yes it's linking to details.

Not sure if this behaviour is intended.

Hmm, sounds reasonable to me, but its not the behaviour i am looking for. Is there a way to change this, except from removing the link to details from the element?

this unfortunately is one of the "can't have your cake and eat it" issues.
I was getting round it by stripping the HTML from the group labels, but then users needed to have the markup in the group by heading. So any entries with link to details don;t work well as selections for the group by template. You could try using the _raw placeholder instead, depending on the element plugin that is used, that might work (or might return a numeric value, say if the element is a database join element)
