Copy file failed upgrade 3.6 to 3.8

I'm running J! 3.8.1, I was able to upgrade all my other Fabrik plugins and components (approx 70) using the J! extension updater except the fabrik admin component - http://fabrikar.com/media/downloads/com_fabrik_3.8.zip - fails with the error "Copy file failed". I've doubled checked the filesystem, perms are good, ownership and group is good... any ideas why every other component updated fine except this one? I also tried to install that zip via 'upload package file' but same error.

Dammit, I wish J! would be more informative with that error.

Check permissions on the library folders:

./libraries
./libraries/fabrik
./libraries/joomla/database/database
./libraries/joomla/database/driver
./libraries/joomla/database/query
./libraries/src
./libraries/src/Document
./libraries/src/Document/Renderer

We have to copy stuff into the ./libraries/src/Document folder to provide support for PDF (and our own internal 'partial' doc type), and our database driver into ./libraries/joomla/database/*

I changed perms on all those folders and still get the same error. Note I did do a compare before and after and these are the files that actually were updated. Can you tell from this what may be missing and perhaps I can adjust permissions to correct the update.

You should have these files in the database folder:

https://github.com/Fabrik/fabrik/tree/master/libraries/joomla/database

Well, the ones in those two folders. And they should get updated.
