Auto Populate a list of elements on form load

I believe this may be beyond the scope of fabrik but I wanted to see if I could get some advice on how it is done with fabrik if possible.

I have a form which collects the following 3 fields.
(Table Unit Assignments)
<unit> <crew 1> <crew 2>

As well there is another table which has a list of all units that the company has available.

What I need to do is when the Unit Assignments Form is loaded. Have the available units load in the table. For example:

Unit Crew 1 Crew 2
11
12
21
22
31
32

Then the user can plug in the crew assignments in the next two elements.

the only way I could think would be to add a form php validation plugin to try to work out how many repeat groups had been submitted and compare that against the number of units available.

Not sure I follow you on this..... I am going to look at building a custom php form to complete this which may be a little easier im not sure
