Advanced Search grouped queries

I have built an "Advanced Search Form" using a standard Fabrik 1.0.6 SVN #1070 form. I post some date and category values to a 'simple eval' script that parses the field values out to a form with a continue button. On submit, it sends basically the same values over to a table view with the [advancedFilterContainer] value set to the search parameters. It works!!!

But... I can't do any type of grouped query. ANDs and ORs don't process in the advanced search very well. Is there any way to make this type of query work?

(jos_events.publish_up > "2009-11-20 00:00:00" AND jos_events.publish_up < "2009-11-21 00:00:00") AND (jos_events.catid = "27" OR jos_events.catid = "36")

In 2.0, yes ...

I assume there is some specific reason you don't want to / can't move to J! 1.5 and Fabrik 2.0?

3 years building over 300 web sites with J1.0 and Fabrik 1.0.6. That and no 'real' way to convert everything I have built. For this project, I might make the change... since we are only in the development process.
