2 date fields that interfere with each other

Using the events content type, there are 2 date fields.
Two things I want:
1. How can I create restrictions, so when start date is entered the end date should not be before the start date.

2. Also, thinking to create a default settings so when start date is entered, the end date will be completed automatically 1 hour after the start date.

Is there any such functionality, or I should go with custom js?

You should just be able to use the "is greater or less than" validation for 1). Enable AJAX validations.

For 2, yes, you would need some custom JS, which you could put in a change event on the start date element.
