Yes, it would be possible. When it would happen is of course a different question. As with any features in Fabrik, unless someone funds development or contributes the code, it'll get done when one of our projects needs it. And atm, none of our clients use the slider element.

Hi,

I made some modifications on samani's work to be able to use it as an independent plugin (slider2 !). Zip is joomla installable. But it's "poor work". Would it possible to make it a real plugin ? We are interested in funding a slider element which could be used on a smartphone.

@lcollong @samani

I took a look at this one. My main concern would be that the rangeslider.js library being used seems to be abandoned:

https://github.com/andreruffert/rangeslider.js

The author hasn't responded to any issues or updated the code in years.

This makes me nervous about using it, as when choosing 3rd party plugins to include with Fabrik, I prefer to use ones which are being actively maintained.

Thoughts?

I agree 100%. If we introduce a "new" range slider, it should be based on active and highly used lib.
It seems to exist a lot of them. I do not have the expertise to select one (vs Fabrik integration).
I took a look on this one while thinking about an alternative way to solve our problem : https://github.com/leongersen/noUiSlider
But we have no preference. Our needs are basics : responsive range slider with touch screen capabilities to be really usable on a smartphone.
One of the "new" possibilities we would appreciate is the tooltip value showing up while moving the slider : https://refreshless.com/nouislider/examples/#section-hiding-tooltips
In our particular need we extensively use these sliders to ask "psychological questions" to the user (" how do you feel") where the answer should not be constraint by rigid value. But by a "feeling" between "sad" and "happy" for example. So we don't display any values on the slider (steps) but it could be interesting to let the user know where the cursor is between 0% and 100% for example.
The more the better but, actually, the existing Fabrik's rangeslider with touchscreen capabilities would be ok.

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
