Updating from Github, master or fabrik35x?

Is it always Master? I'm a bit unclear? I used to always use joomla3, until recently when you told me to use master. Is Master now the new 3.5 version?

We switched from using joomla3 to master a few months ago. We did put up a forum notice about it.

We left the joomla3 branch there as a legacy, but we'll be removing it soon.

I must have missed the notice. Is there an email notification list I can subscribe to for important things like that?

I think you can enable some Fabrik notification (newsletter? ) but only during the subscription process.
And I think it would be a good idea to send such notices like GitHub branch or 'wait with updating Joomla...' also per email.

Yup, @mediaateam is going to work on getting a mailing list whipped into shape. Main issue is we have 42,000 user records going back a decade on the site, and we don't really want to be sending to all of them.

So I think we need to set up an opt-in list, prominently featured on the site, and just do a one-off mass mail to our J! users pointing them at it.
