Opacity issue with FullCalendar popup using Helix3 template

With the migration to use bootstrap modals for the popup in full calendar the popup is not very visible when using the Helix3 template. Using Protostar it is fine. Here is a screen grab: http://prntscr.com/c08od9

To test use my Test-ALG site but use port 8981. Once logged in go to the Club Administration->Committees->Security/Pool Signup. The menu with the (2) is the same vis using protostar.

I wiped my joomla install and installed a barebones joomla installation. On top of that I installed Helix3. I created a single article with a bootstrap modal. I then created 2 separate menu items pointing to the same article, but in the second one I set the default template to Helix3. In both cases the modal displays correctly so the problem is not the Helix3 template itself. There must be something with helix3 and fullcalander combined that is causing the opacity issue.

The test site above is not longer active but I know Hugh you have Helix3 installed on your test system and have seen this issue.
