Natural Primary Key. eg. Identity Card ID (Solved)

Greetings

I made a couple of attempts at trying to use a natural primary key, eg. identity card id, with a form pointing at an existing table. When the list/form is created Fabrik identifies the primary key correctly but assigns it as an internalid. I change that to field and then on the Advanced tab for the element I put:

Max length 16​

Read only NO​

Auto complete NO​

Input type - Text seemed the only possibility​

The problem is that Fabrik inserts 0 into this field, no matter what I type into the form.

An easy response would be to just use an internal id and have the natural primary key as a separate field.
Well, I will do that, if there's no easy fix.

You get 0 because MySQL table does not (cannot but should) autoincrement.

Hello, sorry for wake up old thread, but I have a table which I need to have primary key as Joomla user id.

I have field user_id which uses Joomla user plugin and ID is selected.
But when user enters form about him with information, I get 0 passed to INSERT statement, nor Joomla used id....
Please help, I need to have sync with Joomla user id, because cross module user profile links, and its difficult to format link to user profile from kunena forum user profile to provided information user profile if ID is different...
