How to create new table 1.0x

As the Fabrik 1.0x tutorial on tables is no longer available, can someone please help me?
I searched the forum, but all threads refer to this 1.0x tutorial.

Making use of the installed sample data, I managed to get a form up and running.
Now I would like to create a new form and link it to a new database table.
In the "Database Table to Link To" dropdown menu I can only select already existing database tables.

What steps do I have to take to create a new database table?
Do I need phpMyAdmin?

Create a new group. Save it.
Create some elements, assign them to the new group, save them.
Create a new form. Assign the new group to the form. Select 'record in database'. Save.

Fabrik will automagically create the table.
